WINGS was developed by the Social Intervention Group (SIG) at Columbia University’s School of Social Work in collaboration with survivors, advocates, and community providers serving women at high risk of gender-based violence. Originally created for women who use drugs in the criminal legal system in New York City, it has since been adapted for women living with HIV, sex workers, transgender women, and those experiencing extreme poverty or living in war zones. Our leadership and staff are based in New York City and around the world.
