Lyudmila Kim

Lyudmila Kim is a clinical social worker, educator, and Director of the Uzbekistan-Columbia Center for Advancing Community Strengths and Social Wellbeing, a joint initiative based both in Uzbekistan and at the Social Intervention Group (SIG) at the Columbia School of Social Work. Her clinical, research, and training work focuses on trauma-informed care, gender-based violence (GBV), and mental health among at-risk women, children, and families affected by crisis and other adversities. She has led capacity-building initiatives in collaboration with UNICEF in Central Asia to strengthen trauma-informed services and systems of care. Lyudmila works internationally with social work educators and practitioners to build professional capacity in areas such as GBV response, mental health, and child protection. She is committed to strengthening social service systems and advancing care for vulnerable populations in the Central Asia region and globally.
